Doctor, my girlfriend is suffering greatly from Candida. She's been
battling it for the past 8 months. Unfortunately she is using alprazolam to
combat her symptoms. Could this medication interfere with the infection?

Is she immunosuppressed? What are her other medical diagnoses? This is Candida infection where? Candida is not usually a problem as the body can fight it off unless the patient has problems with his/her immune system. Her battling it for 8 months is not usual.
Alprazolam (Xanax) is a sedative-hypnotic. I don’t see any reason why this should affect her Candida infection. At any rate, inform her attending physician about your concerns.
